Never Be Late Again, 7 Cures for the Punctually Challenged
Do you feel as though you're always running behind? If the answer is yes, you're not alone, but keeping company with such reputedly late luminaries as former president Bill Clinton, actor Robert Redford, and supermodel Naomi Campbell. It's estimated that 15 to 20 percent of the U.S. population have trouble getting where they're going on time, and tardiness costs American businesses more than $3 billion dollars each year in lost productivity.
Although some of the most talented and successful people in the country are devoted disciples of the adage, "better late than never," many more have been passed over for promotions, forfeited raises, and lost face with families and colleagues. Yet even though tardiness is a source of embarrassment and frustration, it can be a surprisingly difficult habit to shake. New research suggests that late people may share certain personality characteristics such as a penchant for thrill-seeking or high levels of anxiety - ingredients that affect their daily lives and behavior.
Through simple exercises and humorous anecdotes, Never Be Late Again seminars will teach you how to unravel the motives behind your lateness and become perfectly punctual. You'll come away with tips on beating procrastination, exercises to improve your time management and organizational skills, and suggestions on increasing self-discipline. Because lateness not only affects the punctually challenged, but impacts those around them, seminars may include an optional segment for the friends, family, and managers of late people.
Diana DeLonzor is an author and time management speaker whose seminars focus on the subjects of procrastination, time-management, and lateness. Her clients include Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, private businesses, and individuals, including organizations such as Tyco, the State of California, Briggs Corporation, and R & M Manufacturing. A former corporate sales executive, she holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
In 1997, in association with San Francisco State University, Ms. DeLonzor headed a study of 225 people, investigating chronic lateness, its causes, and the psychological characteristics of late people versus the timely. She has also conducted extensive personal interviews with more than 100 late and timely individuals to uncover the differences in their habits, backgrounds, and personalities in relation to both procrastination and lateness. Ms. DeLonzor's background also includes research on the impact of procrastination and lateness from an economic and business standpoint, as well as statistical analyses and consultations with organizations such as United Parcel Service, Briggs Corporation, and the U.S. Department of Labor.
Diana DeLonzor conducted two seminars for employees of the State of California Franchise Tax Board on February 27th and 28th, 2002. We were extremely pleased with the outcomes of both presentations. Even with employee attendance being voluntary, Diana attracted and maintained large audiences for both seminars. This was due in part to her exceptional presentation skills and her ability to relate to the audience. Diana conducted a well organized, interesting, and humorous presentation. She was able to gain the attention of our employees and quickly put them at ease. The feedback we received was excellent, with many employees expressing an interest in having her back for a longer, more intensive session. I highly recommend Ms. DeLonzor as a seminar presenter.

I would like to commend Diana DeLonzor for the recent presentation she conducted for Tyco Healthcare employees on the subjects of time management and procrastination. Her presentation style was wonderful, combining valuable information and interesting anecdotes with a professional, enthusiastic delivery. Ms. DeLonzor was very effective in moving our employees through the process of reflecting on their current time management practices through specific, step-by-step productivity exercises. She is a well-prepared, talented speaker who brought a great deal of value to our employees. The most common comment I heard following her speech was, "Let's bring her back for a longer session!"

I attended the class "Never Be Late Again" Monday, January 28th in San Francisco. This was a very enjoyable and informative class for me. There was enough information for an all-day workshop and no one wanted to leave when the class was scheduled to end! Diana was a delightful instructor with an unpretentious style that put everyone at ease. By the end of the class we all felt we were among friends and were laughing together. I appreciated how she shared her own experiences with us about overcoming tardiness and it made us feel like we could relate to her because she had been there. Thank you for offering this class.
